Karlie established Amity Counseling in 2017 to work with individuals referred to treatment for bipolar, domestic violence, anger, substance abuse, as well as for anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders. She found that many of those individuals were struggling with relationships and dealing with diverse experiences that increased stress as well.  She has seen through counseling and experiences the effects of drug use, inadequate parenting, dissatisfaction with work and mental illness. She also realizes how these play a role in interactions with others. Because of these experiences, she understands that exploring a variety of areas in a person's life aids in assessing and increasing well being.  Part of her enjoyment as a counselor is seeing another complete a goal, change a behavior, gain personal insights or experience an "ah ha" moment.

In 2019, Karlie moved locations and opened Amity Counseling as a LLC and a group practice. She realized employing other counselors would create more diversity and opportunity for clients to receive counseling services. As Amity Counseling, LLC has continued to grow, Karlie has learned more about the importance of quality of care. To ensure Amity Counseling, LLC is adhering to standards of the mental health community, Karlie is currently working to accredit Amity Counseling as an agency through a comprehensive survey process conducted by ACHC, an independent third-party. This process validates Amity Counseling’s organizational policies, processes, and care delivery to ensure we meet recognized standards for quality and safety. We plan to complete the accreditation in August 2025.

Karlie enjoys school and learning.  She received her Master of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling on March 30, 2012 from Capella University, graduating with distinction.  She loves to continue learning by attending conferences and trainings in order to gain more education in bipolar, relationships, stress, PTSD, anxiety, depression, psychosis, and other mental health issues. Karlie also completed the Eye-Movement Reprocessing and Desensitization (EMDR) training to aid in treatment of trauma.

Karlie Parry is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oklahoma (License #6167) and a National Certified Counselor (License #312410).
